The BeaverCraft palm size short bent gouge sweep #8 is great for deep, precise continuous wood removal. Great for spoons, kuksa and bowls. The shorter blade and more compact comfortable handle makes it suitable for many carving projects.

The P8A-14 is razor sharp and ready to use right out of the box. Made of high quality carbon steel. You can use this tool for both soft wood and hard wood carving. Handle is made of Ash Wood and is linseed oil coated. Beaver Craft chisels are handcrafted both for beginners and professional wood carvers.

Carbon Steel Blade Care: Please note that this knife is made with high carbon steel, not stainless steel. Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Carbon steel knives should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink. After use we recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly. Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blades surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade sharp, use a honing, or sharpening, steel. After some use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.
