This oval steel is covered with fine diamonds and you will find that the result is quick even if the knife has a very hard stainless blade. To ensure the long life of the steel the surface is covered with titaniumaluminanitrid, an extremely hard and sophisticated material. The diamond steel is used for establishing the wedge shape of the edge.
