This SK1 Oak Spoon Carving Knife is a refined and enhanced version of the classic SK1 hook knife designed for carving spoons, bowls, kuksa, or other projects with rounded edges or to add some detail to your workpiece. The rounding diameter of the knife is 25 mm, which is perfect for small products, and for both soft and hard wood. The hook spoon carving knife is the perfect U-shaped tool for making detailed cuts or rounding out bowls and spoons. The carbon steel blade of this hook knife is single-edged. You can cut with one hand atop the blade for enhanced control.

Carbon Steel Blade Care: Please note that this knife is made with high carbon steel, not stainless steel. Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Carbon steel knives should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink. After use we recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly. Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blades surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade sharp, use a honing, or sharpening, steel. After some use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.
